About me
Polish artist and icon painter based in Morocco. Rooted in classical techniques and Byzantine tradition, inspired by people, light, and everyday beauty.
I am a Polish artist and a graduate of the National Academy of Art in Lviv, Ukraine (Art Restoration); the Faculty of Art at Rzeszów University (Graphic Design); and the Postgraduate Program in Conservation, Architectural and Interior Design in Kraków (both in Poland).
My strong academic background from several Eastern European universities has shaped a unique artistic mindset—marked by a deep appreciation for classical, realistic art; respect for traditional techniques and materials; and close attention to detail. As an art restorer specializing in oil paintings, I am particularly attentive to the material quality and longevity of my work. My in-depth research into the painting techniques of the Old Masters serves as a direct source of inspiration in my daily artistic practice.
For over ten years, I have been primarily devoted to the art of the Orthodox icon. I create both copies and original compositions rooted in the Byzantine tradition and technique. The aesthetic of the icon continues to shape my artistic vision—its spiritual solem4nity, majestic simplicity of stylized forms, and otherworldly beauty are ideals that also guide me in my portrait work. While my portraits adopt a more realistic approach, they still strive to evoke a similar depth and presence, resulting in an almost sacred atmosphere.
A significant transition in my artistic journey occurred in 2023, when I moved from Poland to Morocco—my long-held dream. Here, I find daily inspiration in the intensity of light and color, the beauty of local visual culture and landscapes, and—perhaps most importantly—the expressive faces of the people. I have dedicated my time here to creating a new exhibition, titled They, which is scheduled for summer 2025.
During my stay in Morocco’s capital, Rabat, I also began collaborating with a theater group led by a renowned Iraqi director. In October 2024, the premiere of our first play, Funerary Birth, took place. It is a universal, imaginative, and symbolic commentary on the human condition in the modern world. As Art Director, I was responsible for costume design, scenography, and promotional materials.
Teaching has always been an important part of my career. The joy of sharing my knowledge with students provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on my artistic practice and to foster a creative community of like-minded individuals. After more than a decade of teaching experience in Poland, I have chosen to continue this educational mission in Morocco.
